Welcome to Young Public Speakers CIC (YPS CIC) is a community-focused social enterprise dedicated to empowering children and young people through both physical (in-person) and online training programmes in public speaking,
communication, leadership, and personal development.
The Founders
Josephine Adeniyi is the co-founder of Young Public Speakers (YPS), an organisation founded in 2011 with a clear and enduring mission: to raise confident children and intentionally groom future leaders.
YPS began in Lagos, Nigeria, as a small Saturday programme with a handful of children. Within weeks, parents began to notice remarkable transformations—children grew in confidence, communicated more clearly, and started to exhibit leadership qualities. Encouraged by these visible results, word spread quickly and the programme expanded.
Over time, YPS grew into international and public schools, reaching thousands of children—many of whom had never been given the confidence, structure, or opportunity to express themselves. One such child, Maria, developed exceptional public speaking and debate skills through YPS, went on to win competitions, and later relocated to the United States, where she is now a thriving professional.
To eliminate barriers such as distance and access, YPS transitioned to an online learning model before the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring uninterrupted training and enabling the organisation to reach children across the globe.
Today, Young Public Speakers equips children with confidence, effective communication skills, and strong character—empowering them to find their voice and lead with purpose.

Our Local Impact Focus – Thurrock
YPS is seeking to establish regular in-person training sessions in Tilbury, Thurrock (United Kingdom) to directly support children within the local community.
These physical sessions will provide a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment where children can practise public speaking, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills face-to-face.
